Understanding Business Profile
A Business Profile, often referred to as a Company Profile, is basically a snapshot of your company’s key details pulled from the ACRA (Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority). It includes the date your company was incorporated, its registration number (UEN), financial year end, names of your directors and shareholders, the amount of issued and paid-up capital, and the date of your last Annual General Meeting.
What is a Business Profile Used For?
A lot of times, people such as creditors or bankers may ask for your business profile, or they might just download it from the ACRA directly. The reason? They want to check out your paid-up capital and to ensure that your company has sufficient funds. Sometimes, if your Business Profile needs to be used outside of Singapore, it’ll have to be notarised, legalised, and authenticated by the embassy of the country where it’ll be used.
How to Purchase a Business Profile from ACRA
Getting a Business Profile from ACRA isn’t complex or expensive. It’s just a matter of paying a small fee of $5.50. Here’s the process:
- Hop onto bizfile.gov.sg.
- Log in using your SingPass or CorpPass.
- Navigate to Buy Information > Business Profile > Buy Now.
- Make the payment.
Within 15 minutes of successful payment, you’ll receive an email with a link to download your Business Profile. Don’t hang around as the link only sticks around for a week after buying. Alternatively, you can find the profile under “Messages” once you log back into BizFile+.
