ACRA Make Some Changes for Better Efficiency
Beginning June 1, 2018, all customers who want to visit the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority’s (ACRA) service counters will be required to book an appointment. According to the ACRA website, this can be done via the e-appointment system at least 3 working days in advance. By using the e-appointment system, ACRA will be able to attend to customers promptly and cut down on waiting time. For those who turn up without prior appointments, you may have to wait up to 90 minutes before being served. They may also be scheduled for an appointment on another day to avoid a long waiting time.
The appointment times are from 9am to 4.30pm and each appointment slot is 30 minutes. When making a booking, you are urged to ensure that your email and contact number are correct so that officers from ACRA may contact you for clarification. Upon booking the appointment, an email acknowledgement will be sent to you. You may also check your current appointment through the online appointment form. On the day of appointment, customers are advised to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. Upon arrival at ACRA, please approach the receptionist to obtain a queue ticket. Officers will attend to you within 15 minutes of your appointment time. To ensure that you are served on time, please be punctual for your appointment. Customers who have missed appointments may have to wait up to 90 minutes to be served. Officers may also schedule you to visit us on another day.
Please note that an appointment needs to be made 3 working days in advance through ACRA’s “Contact Us” page at www.acra.gov.sg. If you need immediate assistance with your enquiry, you may also use their self-help tool, ‘Ask Jaime’. Only 1 appointment is allowed per person and a new appointment can only be made after an existing appointment has elapsed. An appointment may be made for general enquiries relating to setting up, managing and closing an entity. Officers are unable to perform the filing of online transactions during the appointment. All transactions are performed via ACRA’s online filing platform www.bizfile.gov.sg. In the event you are unable to make it for your appointment, you may change your appointment through the e-appointment online portal 3 working days in advance.
