Singapore Reopens Borders and Welcomes Travellers
The extensive vaccination campaign to fight COVID-19 has proven to be quite a success. Following the succession of the campaign, travel tourism in Singapore is already in the talks and is about to be announced soon. According to Deputy Prime Minister Mr Heng Swee Keat, countries around the world are resuming air travel after rolling out vaccines and boosters. Singapore is also determined to start air travel globally again, but when the situation permits, of course. Additionally, Transport Minister S. Iswaran added that at the end of 2021, the Changi Airport had reached 15% of pre-pandemic levels, from 3% a year before that.
Singapore is introducing more relaxed border measures and removing entry-level approval requirements for eligible long-term pass holders. Thus, making it easier for expatriates in the country to travel. The goal for the Lion City is to eventually remove vaccinated travel lanes and allow vaccinated visitors from designated countries without quarantine.
