What an incredible year it has been for all of us at 3E Accounting! Despite the uncertainties and challenges that the global economy presented throughout the year, 3E Accounting Singapore team worked relentlessly to put the needs of our clients as our priority.
As we wrap up the year and prepare for the new and exciting opportunities that await us in 2020, let’s look back at the incredible accomplishments we achieved as a team throughout 2019.
Adoption of All 8 Tripartite Standards
In March 2019, 3E Accounting adopted all Eight Tripartite Standards. We’re also pleased to announce that we have been recognised as one of the many Singapore employers who support Fair Employment Practices and Work-Life Balance. This is manifested in our support for My Family Weekend 2019 event which earned us recognition from the Families for Life Council.
Flexing Our External Wing
In July 2019, we marked the milestone expansion of 3E Accounting International to more than 60 countries, a truly unique achievement for a Singapore-based global accounting network.
In-House Digital Research and Development
This year, we were the first among the many SMEs in Singapore to establish an in-house digital research and development team to leverage Industry 4.0. We collaborated with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) on an Accounting Report Automation Software prototype that was showcased at the Accountancy Industry Digital Plan (IDP) in August 2019.
First Union SME Accounting Firm
In September 2019, 3E Accounting became the first SME Accounting Firm and “Small and Medium-sized Accounting Practice” (SMP) to be unionised in Singapore.
What to Look Out For in 2020?
2020 is looking like a promising start for the 3E Accounting team. The European Union (EU) and Singapore have recently signed the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA), a landmark agreement that signifies the shared conviction of both parties that open and global rules-based trade is the path to growth and prosperity. This agreement is the first between the EU and an ASEAN member state, fortifying Singapore’s position as the financial and trade centre in the region.
Commitment to Life-long Learning at 3E Accounting
As we get ready to usher in the new year, 3E Accounting is ever more committed to improve our services. We believe that constant learning and innovation is key to continuous service improvement to serve our clients.
3E Accounting was invited by the Chartered Secretaries Institute of Singapore (CSIS) to the Corporate Service Providers (CSPs) Update Session 2019 at the Stephen Riady Auditorium, NTUC Centre. Speakers from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) briefed participants on the upcoming implementation of the Central Non-Public Beneficial Ownership Register and on the proposed legislative amendments to enhance the transparency of business entities and combat money laundering and terrorism financing.
A SkillsFuture Advice Workshop was also organised for all employees by SkillsFuture and Central Singapore CDC. We learned how to tap on the various training resources for career planning and skills upgrading in support of the Government’s Professional Services Industry Transformation Map (ITM).
Personal Income Tax Filing Season
Before we draw to a close, we’d like to take a moment to gently remind our clients that tax season is just around the corner. Annual personal tax returns for Year of Assessment 2020 must be filed with IRAS by 15 April 2020. If you are an employer, you will need to prepare Form IR8A and Appendix 8A, Appendix 8B or Form IR8S (where applicable) for all your employees by 1 March each year.
