3E Accounting Joins InvestHK Webinar
3E Accounting was invited to attend the Invest Hong Kong webinar, co-organised with the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong and Macau on 20 November 2020. The webinar focused on ways ASEAN Companies can enter the emerging market in the Greater Bay Area.
The speakers included:
- Mr Stephen Phillips, Director-General of Investment Promotion Invest Hong Kong
- Mr Ronald Sum, Partner, Commercial Litigation, Addleshaw Goddard LLP
- Mr Herman Tse, Head of Business and Professional Services, Invest Hong Kong
- Ms Sindy Wong, Head of Tourism and Hospitality, Invest Hong Kong
- Mr Charles Choi, CEO of Tian Tian Catering Group Limited
With the Free Trade Agreement between Hong Kong and ASEAN put into place in June 2019, it accords ASEAN investments in Hong Kong the same level of protection accorded to local companies in Hong Kong, creating a more transparent, facilitative, and secure environment for investors. This also provides ASEAN SMEs and entrepreneurs with the increased opportunity to expand their services into Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
The Greater Bay Area consists of the two Special Administrative Regions (SARs) of China – Hong Kong and Macau, as well as 9 cities in Guangdong. The strategic intent for companies is to leverage the full potential of the GBA for innovation, international competitiveness, commerce, and livability.
The GDP of the Greater Bay Area makes up a significant 11% of China’s total GDP according to the Census and Statistics Department of Hong Kong, which is the 10th largest economy in the world. This presents vast opportunities for businesses and makes the GBA an extremely attractive region for investors to start or even to expand their businesses.
3E Accounting’s Support for the Greater Bay Area
3E Accounting sees the great potential and opportunities that Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (GBA) can provide to ASEAN Companies such as ourselves.
