Benefactors Of All Sizes Were Together At This Honorable Event Honoring The True Heroes Of The Hospital.
How would you feel knowing that your birthplace is a heritage site? You would feel proud and feel connected to it. That is what almost one-third of Singaporeans feel about Kandang Kerbau Hospital (KKH). The hospital has given birth to many Singaporeans from the early days until this very day. Today KKH is a woman’s and children’s hospital. The name itself signifies its speciality to the public. Humbly beginning as a maternity hospital, KKH has come a long way to become among the best women’s and paediatric health care provider in Singapore.
Honouring Heroes, Helping Patients
In light of providing the best healthcare & caring for patients’ overall welfare, KKH launches a commemorative book. Titled ‘Dear KKH, Hope in 50 Letters’ aims to inspire the younger generation to have the courage and determination as to the healthcare personnel described in this book. The book shares 50 letters from grateful patients to the hospital’s doctors, nurses, and even volunteers. The sales of books is to raise funds for the needy patients of KKH. Each letter describes how KKH staff is nothing but helpful in every aspect of the patient and their family. Caring and finding the best solution for a sick patient is obligatory for hospitals. But KKH is more than just that. Its personnel are always concerned about the patient and their families well being. Doctors can only provide medical assistance where needed. Nurses can tend to care for patients’ needs. But, only families can help with continuous moral support from the beginning. Hence, every staff member at KKH will become friends to their patient as well as family members. Family members need good help more than ever. Therefore, KKH staff will always show concern and sympathy. The kindness of one kind is contagious and will spread like wildfire. To this day, many patients remain good friends with their former doctors, nurses or even volunteers.
Raising Fund For The Needy
As countries continue becoming developed, there is a growing concern over health issues. Healthy individuals can safely say they can afford good health. But what about people stricken with an illness that needs extensive care? These people could have used up all their savings and even insurance coverage. Needy patients are not necessarily poor, but they lack the financial net to continue getting healthcare services. Hence, KKH being a concerned healthcare provider, sees to the need of these patients. There are many ways to raise funds. The public can donate to the KKH Endowment Fund or buy the commemorative book. All proceeds of the book will go to the funds for needy patients.
