3E Accounting – First SME Accounting Firm To Be Unionised In Singapore
As the first Small and Medium-sized Accounting Practice (SMP) to be unionised, 3E Accounting founder Lawrence Chai hopes to leverage NTUC’s expertise on the company training committee model, where the Union partners firms to identify skills gaps and plans and executes training for workers. 3E Accounting encourages all employees to join the Union and will pay the Union fee for employees who are members of the union.
The National Trades Union Congress’ (NTUC) U SME director Yeo Guat Kwang told The Straits Times that the Labour Movement has set its sights on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which employ about 70 per cent of Singapore’s workforce. Given the current economic climate, this push is timely as NTUC hopes to help SMEs and workers “sail through this uncertain period better”.
